Chapter 20

He waited for the she-wolf to leave the floor before taking his hand out from his back, revealing the file he had been hiding all along. She sure was very observant, and he couldn’t hide the fact that she was good at that, but she might have failed to notice what he had been carrying.

Her footsteps had faded already from the stairway, and it didn’t take time for him also to walk away from the path he had been standing for a while now as he edged up to where he had met the lady standing.

He looked at the door for a brief moment before peeling his eyes off from it. The next thing he did was take in the scent of what she said had lured her to the place even though he didn’t have to. The smell was there, yes, but what she didn’t know was that there was another scent beneath that scent — a much stronger one.

Realizing he was already running late for the reason he had been here in the first place,
