When Bianca told him to leave, Curtis' expression stiffened for a moment as an indescribable sense of desolation washed over him. Bianca, sensitive as she was, easily picked up on this.

"I'm worried about your health," she said, looking at her father.

Curtis' demeanor softened slightly at the mention of Bianca's concern. Warmth flickered in his eyes.

"I'm worried about you too, Bia," Curtis admitted.

Ever since learning of his daughter's pregnancy, he had been anxious about leaving her in someone else's care.

Bianca fell silent. Curtis noticed her tendency to withdraw from social interactions. She seemed to feel pressured when around too many people.

At his daughter’s continued silence, Curtis said, "I'll head back for today, then."
