"Stop it, King. That's enough," Laurie tells him and reaches over to push me by the shoulders, "I'll help you pack."

He actually does, which surprises me a little. I was expecting more resistance from him, but I'm still happy that he went along so easily.

"By the way, maybe we could... catch up? Go out just the two of us one of these days?" he asks as we're packing up, I look at him in confusion. We've been together almost every day, "I mean, like we used to. Back when you were normal."

I roll my eyes.

"I am normal. This is me now," I let him know, "If you would just take my side, Laurie, things would be fine again. We could be like we used to be."

"How the fuck am I not on your side?" He asks, tossing a balled up shirt in my suitcase, his eyes narrowing at me, "Am I not helping you? Am I not keeping your fucking secret? Am I not hiding you from everyone, even Rio? Haven't I been making sure your mom doesn't see you?"
