"Slave?! You must be mistaken, noble heroine." Maru responded to the woman after he got over from his shock. He was having trouble understanding the words that she said. All he could see of her was a dark mist that covered her form. Maru was sure that she was one of the cultivators in legends. He had finally caught sight of his first heroine, one of the obsessions in his dreams. Maru was excited but also a little put off by the concealment she wore.
"Do you want to break through her disguise, Maru?" the voice of Madame Ais interrupted Maru's thoughts.
"Ye… No, Madame Ais. Don't." Maru had wanted to see the woman but decided against it in the end. He thought she had her own reasons why she chose to hide herself behind a cloak of deception.
