Expect the Unexpected

Mia’s POV

It’s been two weeks since he got married, and here I am trying to forget everything, locked myself inside my room. Holding the picture of Alex, crying out loud and talking to myself.

Why is this happening to me? I’m always around him, but why can’t he even like me the way I like him so much?

You’re my only love, Alex. I changed myself, I did everything for you.

You are the moon, that gives the light in my darkest life, a sun that gives warmth to my cold heart, a star that always shines to lead my way, a meteor that gives me excitement for a second, a thunder that makes me tremble, and a bolt of lightning that scares me to find my shelter.

 “MIRRIAM CASSANDRA SMITH! I’ve been calling you over and over but you didn’t answer your phone. What the heck is happening to you? Open the door NOW!” Kelly shouted angrily, I can hear her, knocking and kicking the door. But I don’t have the energy to stand, and face her right now. I feel ashamed of her and see me like this.

 Kelly Clarkson is my childhood friend, she knows everything about me, as well as my admiration for Alex.  She’s beautiful, sexy, confident, kind, and intelligent. She is a supermodel.

Boooooogsh.!!! The door is widely open it slammed on the wall of my room, fortunately, it didn’t crack. But the big frame that hangs next to the door fell on the floor as well as the glass frame, broken into pieces.

Seeing her like Athena, the goddess of wisdom and war who wants to protect her beloved.

 I can clearly see her face when she walked closely and stand next to me, holding a tool. I see her eyes full of sadness, worries, and anger.

“OH MY GOODNESS! What happened to you? You look terrible.” She said while pointing at my loose Donald duck shirt, touching disgustedly a few strands of my stingy hair, her eyes move around the corner of my messy room shockingly.

“How did you come to my house? Wh-- what are you doing here?” I asked nervously, wiping my tears away, looking at her fierce face that ready to crawl somebody. I slowly hold her hand and remove it from the strands of my hair.

“Of course, I have a spare key. Remember? Stop doing this to yourself, even if you cry like a river things wouldn't change.” These are the true word that wakes up my mind. She holds my shoulder and pushed me inside the bathroom, and locked the door.

“Clean yourself, Mia. We’re going to a place, I brought clothes for you, wear them when you’re done bathing.” She added excitedly. I just followed what she said while listening to her preach from the outside of the bathroom.

 “Mia. . Keep these on your mind, I-its not the end of the world. You still need to move forward, there are so many guys there that will love you more than you love Alex.” She said loudly and never talk. I heard the door of my room closed, I guess she walked out.

I just finished taking a bath and brushed my teeth, I went out of my bathroom to wear the clothes that she gave me.

I saw a red romper off-shoulder dress put on the bed and I wore it and my five-inch silver heels and get my LV black small bag.

 I cleaned my room before I left and walked down on the stairs, I saw Kelly waiting in the living room. She stands the moment she saw me, “let’s go?” I asked “Wait! There’s something missing babe,” she said and pulled me down on the sofa.

She put make-up on my face, combed my curly long hair, put a clip on my hair on the left side to show my neck and ear. “Perfect!” she said amusingly and stand grabbing her bag. “C’mon,” she said and we left my house, we ride in her black car, put on our seatbelts and she drove along our way.

 I can see the trees as we pass by and then stopped at the XM-Alejandrino lounge.

It is Friday night, I hear loud music when we came in, it was crowded, I saw many people on the dance floor, the lights are blinking, the smell of the liquor was surrounded the whole place.

We walked, look to an available table located in the middle and sit on the chair, we also ordered drinks.

I looked around, the place is three times bigger than my room, it has an item of expensive furniture, and the counter is a rectangular shape, it's my first time coming here, then I looked at Kelly. “Why did you bring me here?” I shouted at her, “To have fun and forget. You can find a better man than him, I swear.” She answered while rolling her eyes around the corner of her eyelid.

“Really. You mean, in this kind of place. Huh?” I said sarcastically, she just smirked at me.

Two good-looking men came to us, “Can we dance with you, girls? Asked the man, giving his hands to us, “sure” Kelly answered, as she reached the man’s hand and came to the crowded people at the dance floor.

I ignore the other man standing next to me, “I’m sorry, I don’t like to dance” I said, he nodded and left. I hold the glass of wine and decided to stay at the counter.

I was sitting at the chair facing the bartender, enjoying myself alone while drinking a glass of wine. Guys were flirting with me but I ignore them and so they leave.

 Until someone grabbed my right arm, I almost jump-off of my sit in shock. I stand to face the person who’s holding me.

I saw a man, he looked so handsome, tall, charismatic, had a pair of hazelnut brown eyes, broad nose, thin lips, he was sexy wearing his fitted gray suit and shiny black shoes, he’s actually intimidating...

But I don’t care at all, what I care is why the hell he’s touching me?

I frowned at him, but his face is slowly getting closer and closer to my face, he grabbed my other arm.

“What the hell are trying to do? Don’t TOUCH me.” I shouted angrily at him but he didn’t say anything. Instead, he pressed his lips to mine, with his eyes closed. He sucks my lower lip. I feel his arm is slowly going down to my waist, he holds me with care, his other arm is at the back of my neck.

My eyes grew bigger and I can’t move, I tried to push him but I can’t he’s holding me tightly and kissing me like there’s no tomorrow.

Oh my! That’s my first kiss, he’s getting into my nerves. I will let him pay once I had a chance to. I said to myself.
