Chapter 187: After Rain

The next morning, I woke up from a chair that I pulled from my dining room and placed next to the bed. I slept with my head resting on the bed and my waist bent for the whole night. I feel so sore when I sit back straight up.

I give a deep yawn as I stretch my body, then a sneeze follows. I feel cold, I take a deep sniffle as I feel my nose runny, and I feel a little pain in my eyes as I rub them with my fists. 

I open my eyes and look at Jamie who is still in her sleep in my bed. I adjust the blanket for her, covering her shoulders. I wonder if she feels better by now?

As I ponder, I pick up the tympanic thermometer from the night table and carefully insert the probe into her ear.

I pressed the start button an
