A new day...

When I opened my eyes, I found myself lying in a comfortable bed. There was a huge window on the right side of it. The sunrays were entering through the window, enlightening the entire room. It must have been late in the morning since the sun was quite high. I should probably have been in a deep state of panic, but I was strangely composed. I wondered how long I slept like that, and what exactly happened, but I didn't find even an ounce of anxiety in me.

I turned my head to the other side and saw Grandma. She was napping while sitting in an armchair. She looked peaceful and serene… as if she was a different person. I chuckled softly. My voice woke her up.

“Kass…? You are awake… That's great… We were worried…” she muttered with a sleepy voice.

“You don't sound like you were worried at all,” I teased her.

“I was worried… but I knew you'd be fine,” she grinned.
