Chapter 27

Leena's POV

My vision is gone. No wait. There's something over my eyes preventing me from seeing anything. The stench is overpowering.

It doesn't smell anything like the palace. It has this strong damp smell. The kind the permeates your senses and makes your stomach curdle.

I go to remove the object covering my eyes and I can't seem to move my arms. I jerk around and realize that my hands are tied behind my back.

To test a quick theory, I try to move my legs and they are also tied around the ankles. What the hell is going on? Where am I?

I can't remember much, but what I do remember is sort of hazy. I was in the bed, crying, when I felt something hard connect with the back of my head. I remember coming to momentarily while my body was being bound and there were people all around me, but after that it's all a blur.

I hear movement in the room with me and my heart starts pounding. A dark figure shifts around a farther side of the room and my blood runs cold.
