The silence was killing me and I couldn't handle hearing only my chewing sounds anymore. “So the King told me that there were rules of this castle,” I started in an attempt to diffuse the awkward silence. “He had informed me that someone would come and teach me the rules and the etiquette some time today.”

The fact that I had gained this newfound freedom did not sit well with me. It was heavy, and the price tag was excruciatingly steep. What I did know about the gift was that I had to walk to it because it was too large to be given to me in my bedroom, that the king had done a lot of research by asking around to figure out what I liked, and that he was extremely excited about it.
