"Well," he began but stopped talking when he saw a young man walking towards us.

From his aura, I presumed him to be the Lycan Beta. I stared at Arden who stared back at me too.

"That must be the Beta," Arden said.

I nodded with contentment. Now I understand why the head of the council compared him with some Alphas.

I stood up to welcome him which was so unlike me. He walked past me with no emotion on his face and I blinked.

"Beta Nathan, this is Alpha Gilbert of the Ice Pack. The one Elder Edward told you about". He nodded and sat down, saying nothing. "Please, sit," the elder said.

I stared at Arden who smiled slightly. "Please, don't get angry" Arden mind-linked me quickly.
