Christmas was only a few days away, and I had to go back to the restaurant to help my parents. I had never spent any Christmas away from them, and I didn't have plans of doing so now. But regardless…Hayley hadn't been thrilled to let me go, so I had to flee the house before she woke up on Saturday morning.
My mom and dad were setting up the Christmas decorations when I arrived at the restaurant around eight in the morning.
