I walked into the room, exhaustion weighing me down both physically and mentally. The day had been a whirlwind of emotions, and I couldn't escape the reality of my thoughtless promise. I had to own up to the promise I made. Whether I liked it or not, I would have to fulfill it, in whatever way I could.

With a heavy sigh, I fell onto the soft expanse of the bed, its comforting embrace offering little solace to my racing mind. Thoughts circled like vultures, and I felt overwhelmed by the weight of my own actions.

I had believed that by promising to bring their mother to their birthday party, I could create a space for myself within this family, a place where I could bring smiles to the faces of the triplets and make them happy.
