Chapter 55: Trouble In Paradise

Sapphire's POV

Eric called out to me but I didn't stop. I continued to walk away from him, ignoring his demand. He got to where I was and grabbed my arm, forcefully turning me to face him. His grip was tight, and his eyes bore into mine with anger.

"You can't just walk away whenever you feel like it," he spat.

I glared at him, pulling my arm free from his grasp. Surprisingly, I did it in one swift motion. "Watch me," I shot back.

Without another word, I stormed out of the room and down the stairs, my heart beating fast and my mind in a whirlwind like a storm tearing through a fragile landscape, leaving emotional debris in its wake. Eric's words echoed in my head, each one feeling like a stab to the heart. I couldn't believe what I had just heard. And even worse, I couldn't believe what I was feeling right now.
