Chapter 42: Am I Cursed?

"Your boss and his ex are getting married."

"Hey, Prisley, are you listening?" Jennifer called out.

"Oh… yeah, I'm listening… But what does his marriage have to do with me?" Prisley quickly ended the call, her expression stiff.

"What's wrong?" Spencer asked.

"Nothing. Just talking to a friend about my boss."

"Your boss is Heather Rynn, right?"

"You know him?"

"I’ve heard he's quite a big deal. Rose to a high position at a young age. Some of his mergers are textbook cases."

"Prisley, you must have learned a lot working with him."

"Oh… yes…"

Prisley's thoughts were still tangled in what Jennifer had said about Heather getting married.

Spencer sensed her discomfort.

"Spencer, can you take a walk with me?" Prisley asked.

"Sure. Where do you want to go?"
