Chapter 70 Repayment

The two tossed their manners out the window and sat down on the carpet. They sipped the wine in silence in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows.

It was the end of the lunar cycle, so the moon was absent from the sky. Only a few sparse stars dotted the night sky.

In the distance, the dim yellow of streetlights formed a winding line, sketching an invisible horizon.

After downing a bottle of red wine without a word, Hannah felt a bit tipsy. She leaned on the table and tilted her head to look at Darren. "Mr. Winchester."

Her cheeks were slightly flushed, her lips an even rosier red. Her eyes glimmered with a film of moisture, as though tears would escape any moment now.

She looked miserable yet alluring. It was as if she was tempting him to pick on her. He fought the urge to hold her in his arms and tease her until she wept.
