Robert mused. His fingers tapped absently on his watch, creating a soft and subtle noise.

In a hushed tone, he drawled, "Once we're married, pay no attention to the people around us. No matter how happy Darren and Hannah are, we'll do well on our own. Alright?"

Karen's eyes were vacant. Her expression was blank, yet she felt like she was being burned alive. Her soul screamed in agony, weeping tears of defiance in silence.
