“…I’m here to announce that Alexander, as you have seen, is going to be living with us since he can’t stay with Lucas at his house,” Edward said

“So you mean in this same building, under the same roof with us?”

I stopped in my tracks. That was her voice. Isabella, inquiring if I’ll stay back or not. A flare of anger pulsed through me. This was the woman I had searched for all rounds of Portland, only to find that she was not there. Did she understand what it means to search the whole of Portland and not find her?

I stepped forward with a smirk on my face. “Heck, are you trying to chase me away already?”

She jolted at the sound of my voice. “Uh, no, no. I was simply asking if you’ll be staying here with us or not.”

“So, what does that matter? Do you not want me here? Is that why you’re asking, so I’ll leave?”

I relished the embarrassed flush of pink that came to her face and spread to the roots of her hair.
