"It's indeed his mark!"

"Will you lower your voice?" I needed to cup Olga's mouth to prevent her from screaming. We were in my office here in the hospital, and the nurse's station was just nearby. I knew we had to be careful not to attract attention.

It had been five days since this mark had sat on my skin. On day one, it felt like a burning sensation, but now it's just a dull ache. Although, from the outside, it just looked like a 3D tattoo of impressions of teeth and fangs. Olga used to hide hers by wrapping a scarf around her neck. I, however, just covered mine with a lot of makeup. I needed to retouch it every few hours to make sure it stayed hidden.

"And what did Ivik say about the mark?"

"I have never heard from him since he brought me home." I shook my head, still confused as to why he wasn't communicating with me lately. Not even a single word from the mind-link.
