16. ONE PLAN FROM DAD
I went up to my room and changed to my training suit. It was a suit that was compatible with the powers I possessed. When I was about to exit, the phone rang in my room. I went back to answer it.
“Hello”, I said.
“Hey, it’s me. Caught you at a bad time?” Ashton spoke over the phone.
“I was about to go for my training session. You're okay?”
“Kelsey put me in a hide-out place that she said was safe from Kyle. I don’t know why I have to hide from him, he’s my adopted father after all. Kelsey said there’s something really important that she’ll tell me later on tonight because she had to go to work. She only told me that Kyle’s not the person that I’ve always known him to be and then took off. Lina, I think I’m in more danger than I thought myself to be. I just feel that way”, he said.

I woke up to a cloud-covered day. It was a little windy but not the kind of conditions that kept you indoors for the whole day. I didn’t pay much attention at first since they were still updating Ashton’s parents about Kyle Simpson. I knew most of the information that was being delivered so I took that time to practise my shield.Ashton came to sit by me on the couch. He took the liberty of holding my hand and squeezing it a bit.
