Iris was restless but she was trying her best to sit still. Her legs tapped against the floor continuously without breaks and her face was buried in her hands on her lap.

She was praying. She couldn't remember the last time she prayed so earnestly and she knew she didn't deserve an answer but this was her, asking for help not knowing where else to get it.

Her entire body trembled and her heart raced with each passing minute. Her breaths were coming out in shaky pants.

Someone tapped her and she lifted her head to see a nurse holding a tray. “Ma’am please, come with me so I can check you for injuries and treat them”

The nurse’s eyes observed her entire body, eyes pausing on the injuries she could find. She still had Hailey’s blood on her as well.
