Helena’s POV…

There, she had said it, as it was without mincing her words.

She finally let go of her breath that she had held and released her numb, balled up fists. Her eyes looked at him for the first time since beginning her confession and he sat with his chin resting on his knuckles, an unreadable but serious expression written on him. He moved, leaning back on the couch, his arm resting on the side and his fingers began to tap, prolonging her anxiety.

This had to have been the hardest confession she had ever made to date. The last time she remembered feeling this way was way back in high school when her parents had returned early from their business trip and found Pete Kensington in her room.
