I ran up the stairs and down the hall until I reached our room.

I went in and marched to the bathroom and turned on the sink tap. I grabbed a handful of water and splashed it all over my face.

When it comes out. Aaron was standing there, waiting for me.

"I told you. I'm fine,” I said, then walked past him and sat on the bed. He was still standing in front of the bathroom door staring at me. “I contacted Remus. I told him we were leaving for Fairbanks tomorrow,” he said

I nodded and we both fell silent once more. We sat in that awkward silence for a few minutes.

He stopped at the door, looking at me. I was looking at the ground, but I could feel his gaze on me “Don't look at me like I'm a strange animal. I’m scared enough by all this,” I replied.

"I am really sorry. Chloe,” he said, looking at his feet. “But I never saw you as a strange animal. On the contrary. I thought what you just did was incredible.” He came and sat next to me on the bed.
