I was released from the hospital shortly after, but I refused to go to the pack house, so I returned to my parents' house.

Aaron, the elders, and Max complained about it not being safe, but I couldn't care less. Anywhere was safer than being near them. Close to my partner, to be more precise.

When I reached the threshold and saw the dust covering every corner of the place, I realized how lonely I felt. I had finally returned to my home, but I had no one to return to. I was completely alone. Mom is gone. Dad is gone. And Montana too.

I walked into the house, remembering the good old days, remembering when Dad and I played hide and seek or when I met Montana. She and I would argue about everything, but we would make up later, while watching a scary movie and eating popcorn.

A single tear fell and I wiped it away. I was tired of crying.

I went to the kitchen and took out the broom, dustpan and other cleaning utensils.
