Morning came faster than I would have liked. I was getting totally cold about this meeting with Max.
I should have refused immediately, but I just couldn't bring myself to do it. He was too sweet for me to break his heart like that.
And I know what it's like to anticipate rejection. I had to put up with this for months with Aaron.
And Max has been nothing but kind and thoughtful to us. Rhea murmured in my mind. She was completely right.
Let's just get this over with and try not to hurt Max's feelings in the process, I told her. She nodded in response.
I grabbed my phone that was charging, went down to the kitchen and found Mrs. Kala there, beating eggs.
"Good morning my love. Breakfast will be ready soon,” she said, smiling warmly at me.
“Lady Kala, it is really not necessary for you to come and prepare my meals.
