Chapter Eighteen

Quiet inside the office, Alexander thought about everything Amelia had said to him. He could not come to terms with it. He couldn't really believe that Amelia didn't love him. Not after all they had been through in those weeks. There had to be some explanation. Something had happened in those two days she had been away.

Looking out the window, the weather was beginning to change as Alex tried to process everything that had happened. He knew it was a lie, the way Amelia kissed him that night, it wasn't a fake kiss. She had feelings for him. But something happened to make Amelia give up on the two of them, he just didn't know what.
