"Hello, Dr. Christina." Miya softly utters when she enters the doctor's office before shutting the door.
Christina smiled and signaled her to take a seat, so she approached the desk and sat down in the chair.
"How are you doing today, Miya?" Christina asked as she stared at Miya with gentle eyes.
"Except for my boobs feeling sore, me regularly feeling tired, the morning sickness, me having vivid and strange dreams, the stomach cramps, me developing an uncanny sense of smell, and all the other thing that comes with being pregnant, I am doing pretty well today, doc. Thank you for asking." Miya said with a jovial expression.
"Haha, the joy of entering motherhood. Where is your husband?" Dr. Christina asked when she noticed that Miya was alone.
"Ho, he's waiting in the car. Lucas is not a big fan of hospital smells, so I told him to stay in the car." Miya said as she tried to force a
"Triplets?" Chris shouted as he drove into the hospital parking lot.He was almost at the hospital when he got a call from doctor Christina. The moment he answered, she told him the news."Yes, Mr. Ash. Miya is pregnant with triplets for your friend Jackson." Christina's voice echoed through the phone speaker."That's good!" Chris said with excitement."Mr. Ash, not to be disrespectful, but I don't think this situation is good. Miya is happy about this news because she believes that the kids belong to her husband. Yet I am deceiving her.""Then what should we do? Tell her the truth and have her abort the kids or go through with your original plan? However, these two plans end with these children dying, and that's not what we want. Right, Doc?""Yes, Mr. Ash.""Okay! Since we are on the same page. I will be awaiting more updates from you."
Jennie ran out of the room in tears, and as she got towards the exit, a voice stopped her from taking a step forward."I trusted you!" Rose said.
Julie entered the intensive care unit. As she got closer to her parents, Mrs. and Mr. Harper could immediately tell that their daughter had been crying. They rushed over to her with a concerned look on their faces."Are you okay, sweetheart?" Mr. Harper softly said as he gently touched Julie's arm."I am fine." Julie calmly replied."Are you sure, baby? Your eyes looked puffy, and it seemed like you were crying?" Mrs. Harper stated."I said that I am okay! Please stop all the interrogations, okay! I am tired, and I need to rest." Julie harshly said, even though she did not intend for her voice to come out harsh.Rose was now concerned since she too could tell that Julie was definitely not okay. She stood from the bench and joined Mr. and Mrs. Harper."It's okay if you are tired. I know the past few days have been rough on you, so I understand yo
Miya was still a bit shocked about everything as she and Chris silently walked down the hallway.“Are you okay?” Chris asked with his eyes focused on her.“Umm?” She mumbled confusingly before looking up at him.Miya could see the concern in his eyes, and that brought her out of her thoughts. She then softly smiled at Chris for a second and said, “Yes. I have come across a lot of broken people, but I have never seen so much hurt in someone's eyes before like your friend. He looked so destroyed.”“Yeah, neither have I. That's why I don't mess around with love,” Chris mumbled.“You have never been in love before?”“Nope.
When Steven arrived at Jackson's room, he met Rose and the others in tears. However, he paid no mind to them as he rushed for the door, but Chris pulled him back."What are you doing? Let me go!" Steven shouted while struggling to get his hand out of Chris's grip."You can't go in there, and you know it." Chris calmly said, releasing his fingers from around Steven's hand. There was hesitation in his worried eyes for a second. Then he sluggishly walked over to the glass window and sadly gazed at the bunch of doctors and nurses, standing over Jackson."Why are they putting those things back on him?" Steven whispered with his hands pressed flat on the glass."He needs to get back on life support, son," Rose said as she stood beside him. When her sight rested on Jackson being put on oxygen, Rose covered her mouth tightly with her hand to stop herself from crying out loud. The hallway got awf
The moment Steven got home, the first place he went was the bar. But when he set his sight on the wine bottles, he froze, barely able to move his legs or exhale the air that he had been suppressing in his lungs. It has been months since Jackson got involved in the accident, and Steven had restrained his every desire to have alcohol because of that unfaithful day.But now, he felt his willpower weakening with every second he spent staring at those shelves until he completely lost to his cravings.Pushing aside every logical reason that his head was giving him to avoid those bottles, the pain ripping through his heart made it difficult for Steven to listen to reasoning. As the evening sky slowly became a bit darker, Joe walked in on Steven with a half-full wine bottle and an empty glass.“Sir, I think that's enough alcohol for now,” Joe said while staring at his boss with concern in his eyes.Steven was about to reply when the doorbell rang. So he s
Oh, it is raining.” Steven mumbled as he sat in the backseat of the vehicle, staring at the raindrops trailing down the window glass.“Did you say something, sir?” Joe asked while striving to focus on the road as he gave his attention to his boss.As Steven’s eyes swayed away from the window, he let out a sigh and said, “This scene seems too familiar.”The confusion in Joe's expression quickly shifted into pity as he gave a glance into the V-mirror and saw the misery on his boss’s face.“Do you think she will be able to forgive me?” Steven said while staring at his employee’s face through the V-mirror.“I don't know, sir.” Joe slowly replied, choosing his words carefully. The car grew awfully silent and it stayed that way until they got to the Harper's bakeshop. Then Steven rushed out of the car, ran under the heavy rain towards the bakery, and knocked on the door.“Bang!”“Bang!”“Julie, can we talk!” Steven shouted as
The light in the room looked a bit blurry for a while until Jackson's eyes could completely adjust to the brightness from the bulb. Then he turned his head to the right and stared in shock at Steven sleeping in an uncomfortable position.“Hey man, wake up.” Jackson softly said while tapping Steven a bit on the back of his hand.It took a few more gentle hits for Steven to finally open his eyes. Then he sat back in the chair and did some awkward stretching before letting out a loud yum.“Your eyes,” Jackson mumbled beneath his breath with worry in his voice.“What about them?” Steven absentmindedly asked while slightly rubbing his eyelid.“They are puffy and red. You've been crying, haven't you?”“What! No! Of course not!”As those words rolled out of Steven's lips, he could tell from Jackson's doubtful expression that he wasn't buying it, and even Steven was not convinced by his response.“Why?” Jackson calmly said, and
