Chapter four That mark!

Chapter four That mark!

Jayden was gobsmacked and couldn't believe his eyes. He watched her alight from the car and walk into the hotel. He was about to subconsciously go after her when the man from earlier stood in his way again.

He gave the lady that was now almost out of sight one more look before entering the Limousine. He kept mute throughout the drive as different thoughts ran across his mind. He seemed restless and his heart was thumping at a fast pace.

The limousine abruptly stopped and he lunged forward and then back into his seat swiftly. Outraged, he yelled. "What's the problem?!"

"Sir, some black vans just crossed our paths." The driver reported.

Jayden creased his brows and then it became clear to him. "Go out and find out what's going on." He ordered.

Many men in complete black outfits stepped out of the vans, looking ferocious and ready for violence.

Jayden's entourage alighted  their cars too and stepped forward. So did Theodore.

The men in black were identified as thugs and were confronted by Theodore.

Then the leader of the thugs faced him. "We are here to get the person in that car." He said, pointing to the limousine.

"And what business do you have with him?" Theodore demanded, sending back to him a fierce look. One of the thugs started poking Theodore in the chest. He was their top banana. "It's none of your fucking business!"

One of Jayden's entourage fellow got riled up and made an attempt to punch the thug and he got attacked by the other thugs. A big fight broke out as the entourage fought the thugs vigorously. Theodore didn't join the fight and turned to the guy who drove he limousine. "Deal with them. I'll get him to the chapel safely." He started and the guy nodded in agreement.

Before Theodore turned around to leave, he nodded slightly and swiftly at the thug leader.

Unnoticed, Jayden left the limousine for his own car.

"Drive back to the hotel." Jayden ordered in a brisk tone. Theodore turned to him. "That's not part of the the plan."

Jayden sent him a sharp glare and he complied with no more objection.

JAYDEN'S POV

"Please make it brief. I have a business meeting in ten minutes." She stated briskly as she sat up with her legs crossed, looking well composed. She had no smiley face on. And she looked different compared to five years ago.

Then, she was way too skinny but her shape was apparent, still. Now, looked like she added some weight. Her ocean blue eyes glistened and her facial features didn't change. The makeup she had on made her face stand out the more.

I guess this is really fate. I've been searching for this woman all over the years but there was no single trace of her. And now, I get to see and meet her and talk over a cup of coffee without stress? Funny.

"I won't take much of your time." I started.

"You spent two minutes staring at me already." She pointed out, with a straight face.

I was taken aback for a second. She was blunt! And I liked that.

He smiled slightly. "I'm not sorry about that. I'm Jayden Reynolds, Vice President of Reynolds enterprises." I introduced.

"I know you. Like I said earlier,I have a business meeting in few minutes, so cut to the chase."

I exhaled. What to say? You're the one I had a night stand with years ago? What exactly to say?

Then I decided, i'd start from somewhere. There's no way I'm letting her go this time.

"I met you five years ago, at an hotel. We were both in a drunken state so we did something we weren't supposed to."

I could see the twitch of emotions in her eyes, but she didn't lose her composure.

"Can you elaborate?" She requested after taking a sip from the coffee cup she had refused to drink from.

I sighed again. "June 18, 2017. We had sex together."

ST. THOMAS CHAPEL.

AUTHOR'S POV

Arthur leaned in to talk to his secretary who sat on his left hand side. "Why is Jayden not here yet?"

"He'll soon be here sir. I sent men to pick him up." Mr Caddie, the 43 year old Secretary replied politely.

"When was that?" Arthur further asked.

Glancing at his watch, he answered back. "About an hour ago."

Just then, Caddie's phone rang. "Hello, why are you guys taking so long?"

"Some thugs crossed our paths and a fight broke out sir." An entourage reported.

"What about the young master?" Caddie asked, looking worried.

"I think he got away with his man."

After ending the call, Caddie deeply exhaled before turning to Arthur to explain everything.

"What do you think?" Arthur quizzed after hearing the full news.

"He had it all planned sir." Caddie replied intelligently.

Arthur smirked. "He had been way too quiet in the past few days."

Erin looked like she was going to go crazy. She lost her perfect composure and was now trembling slightly. She became nervous and had slight trouble with breathing.

"No. It's not possible. It can't be true." She muttered silently to herself in a breaking voice.

"What nonsense are you letting out of your mouth?!" She blurted out angrily after gathering some confidence.

"I know it's hard to believe, it's all my fault. I'm the jerk for letting it happen, and I don't regret it. It's true that we were both drunk but I'm not the type to lose total control of mind." Jayden uttered bluntly.

Erin's eyes were bloodshot at the time. She was perturbed and angered at the same time. She suddenly stood up and slammed her palm on the table. "Stop playing pranks with me. You wanna die?!" She threatened.

Jayden tilted his face to a side to take a breath. He knew how hard it was for her to accept the striking certainty but he was bent on making her believe and accept it.

Erin's brows furrowed impulsively and she trembled the more. She became weak in the knees and couldn't keep standing so she fell on her seat. Different, strange images appeared in her head and closed her eyes tightly, held her head with her two hands and groaned in pain.

Distressed, Jayden walked over to her and made an attempt to touch her. "Are you okay?"

Erin held a hand up protestingly. "Don't!" She cautioned. "Don't touch me."

When she finally got a clear picture of the strange memories that came rushing into her mind. The memories came when she spotted the little mole on the side of his neck. That mole. She had seen it before. She recollected seeing that when she underwent a recall therapy. She underwent the therapy countless times and that mole was the only thing she remembered.

But now, without any therapy, she easily and unwillingly recalled the memories from five years ago.  The night that changed her fate. She looked into Jayden's eyes. Their eyes were locked for quite a long moment. At first, her gaze was warm and soft but the next minute, they became vicious. She grabbed her bag and stood up and left angrily without a word.

Theodore ran to Jayden immediately. "Who is that woman? By the way, your father has been calling repeatedly."

Jayden totally ignore what he said and requested a transparent nylon. Carefully, he placed the plastic coffee cup she drank from, into the nylon and handed it over to Theo.

"Run a DNA and find out information about her." He ordered.
