Chapter four That mark!
Jayden was gobsmacked and couldn't believe his eyes. He watched her alight from the car and walk into the hotel. He was about to subconsciously go after her when the man from earlier stood in his way again. He gave the lady that was now almost out of sight one more look before entering the Limousine. He kept mute throughout the drive as different thoughts ran across his mind. He seemed restless and his heart was thumping at a fast pace.
The limousine abruptly stopped and he lunged forward and then back into his seat swiftly. Outraged, he yelled. "What's the problem?!"
"Sir, some black vans just crossed our paths." The driver reported.Jayden creased his brows and then it became clear to him. "Go out and find out what's going on." He ordered.
Many men in complete black outfits stepped out of the vans, looking ferocious and ready for violence. Jayden's entourage alighted their cars too and stepped forward. So did Theodore. The men in black were identified as thugs and were confronted by Theodore.
Then the leader of the thugs faced him. "We are here to get the person in that car." He said, pointing to the limousine."And what business do you have with him?" Theodore demanded, sending back to him a fierce look. One of the thugs started poking Theodore in the chest. He was their top banana. "It's none of your fucking business!"
One of Jayden's entourage fellow got riled up and made an attempt to punch the thug and he got attacked by the other thugs. A big fight broke out as the entourage fought the thugs vigorously. Theodore didn't join the fight and turned to the guy who drove he limousine. "Deal with them. I'll get him to the chapel safely." He started and the guy nodded in agreement.
Before Theodore turned around to leave, he nodded slightly and swiftly at the thug leader.
Unnoticed, Jayden left the limousine for his own car."Drive back to the hotel." Jayden ordered in a brisk tone. Theodore turned to him. "That's not part of the the plan." Jayden sent him a sharp glare and he complied with no more objection.TK LODGE.JAYDEN'S POV
"Please make it brief. I have a business meeting in ten minutes." She stated briskly as she sat up with her legs crossed, looking well composed. She had no smiley face on. And she looked different compared to five years ago.
Then, she was way too skinny but her shape was apparent, still. Now, looked like she added some weight. Her ocean blue eyes glistened and her facial features didn't change. The makeup she had on made her face stand out the more.
I guess this is really fate. I've been searching for this woman all over the years but there was no single trace of her. And now, I get to see and meet her and talk over a cup of coffee without stress? Funny.
"I won't take much of your time." I started.
"You spent two minutes staring at me already." She pointed out, with a straight face.
I was taken aback for a second. She was blunt! And I liked that.
He smiled slightly. "I'm not sorry about that. I'm Jayden Reynolds, Vice President of Reynolds enterprises." I introduced."I know you. Like I said earlier,I have a business meeting in few minutes, so cut to the chase."
I exhaled. What to say? You're the one I had a night stand with years ago? What exactly to say?
Then I decided, i'd start from somewhere. There's no way I'm letting her go this time."I met you five years ago, at an hotel. We were both in a drunken state so we did something we weren't supposed to."
I could see the twitch of emotions in her eyes, but she didn't lose her composure."Can you elaborate?" She requested after taking a sip from the coffee cup she had refused to drink from.
I sighed again. "June 18, 2017. We had sex together."ST. THOMAS CHAPEL.AUTHOR'S POV
Arthur leaned in to talk to his secretary who sat on his left hand side. "Why is Jayden not here yet?"
"He'll soon be here sir. I sent men to pick him up." Mr Caddie, the 43 year old Secretary replied politely."When was that?" Arthur further asked.
Glancing at his watch, he answered back. "About an hour ago."
Just then, Caddie's phone rang. "Hello, why are you guys taking so long?" "Some thugs crossed our paths and a fight broke out sir." An entourage reported. "What about the young master?" Caddie asked, looking worried."I think he got away with his man."After ending the call, Caddie deeply exhaled before turning to Arthur to explain everything.
"What do you think?" Arthur quizzed after hearing the full news. "He had it all planned sir." Caddie replied intelligently.Arthur smirked. "He had been way too quiet in the past few days."TK LODGE.Erin looked like she was going to go crazy. She lost her perfect composure and was now trembling slightly. She became nervous and had slight trouble with breathing. "No. It's not possible. It can't be true." She muttered silently to herself in a breaking voice. "What nonsense are you letting out of your mouth?!" She blurted out angrily after gathering some confidence."I know it's hard to believe, it's all my fault. I'm the jerk for letting it happen, and I don't regret it. It's true that we were both drunk but I'm not the type to lose total control of mind." Jayden uttered bluntly.
Erin's eyes were bloodshot at the time. She was perturbed and angered at the same time. She suddenly stood up and slammed her palm on the table. "Stop playing pranks with me. You wanna die?!" She threatened.
Jayden tilted his face to a side to take a breath. He knew how hard it was for her to accept the striking certainty but he was bent on making her believe and accept it.Erin's brows furrowed impulsively and she trembled the more. She became weak in the knees and couldn't keep standing so she fell on her seat. Different, strange images appeared in her head and closed her eyes tightly, held her head with her two hands and groaned in pain.
Distressed, Jayden walked over to her and made an attempt to touch her. "Are you okay?"
Erin held a hand up protestingly. "Don't!" She cautioned. "Don't touch me."When she finally got a clear picture of the strange memories that came rushing into her mind. The memories came when she spotted the little mole on the side of his neck. That mole. She had seen it before. She recollected seeing that when she underwent a recall therapy. She underwent the therapy countless times and that mole was the only thing she remembered. But now, without any therapy, she easily and unwillingly recalled the memories from five years ago. The night that changed her fate. She looked into Jayden's eyes. Their eyes were locked for quite a long moment. At first, her gaze was warm and soft but the next minute, they became vicious. She grabbed her bag and stood up and left angrily without a word.
Theodore ran to Jayden immediately. "Who is that woman? By the way, your father has been calling repeatedly."
Jayden totally ignore what he said and requested a transparent nylon. Carefully, he placed the plastic coffee cup she drank from, into the nylon and handed it over to Theo."Run a DNA and find out information about her." He ordered.
Chapter five AstoundedREYNOLDS VILLA."You chose to disgrace me? What was your reason for not attending your own wedding?" Arthur demanded furiously? His veins popped up on his forehead and neck.Jayden bowed his head a little. "I'm sorry.""I don't need your apology. Give me an adequate reason!" Jayden sighed a little. "No reason." He replied calmly and a moist palm hit his right cheek. Arthur hit him. "Honey." Scarlett let out in a breaking voice and carefully rushed over to her son.Jayden didn't budge and he maintained his composure. In no time, his cheek was carrying a red handprint. "You are very stupid for having no reason and making our family look like fools!" Arthur blurted."I'm sorry." Jayden apologized again, infuriating his father the more. Just then the the grannies, the twins and their mother walked into the living room on the second floor. Granny Lucy quickly darted over to Jayden and Scarlett when she spotted the handprint on his face. "I'm sorry for disappoi
Chapter six Who are you?The housekeeper, Mrs Lily, walked to the door when she had a knock and opened it after seeing who it was. It was a stranger. She was shocked when she saw his face. She didn't fail to notice the resemblance between him and her boss's son. "Please wait here, I'll go get her." She said to Jayden and he patiently waited for Erin to step out.As Erin walked down the stairs, she set eyes on him and her heart skipped a beat. Hurriedly, she descended the stairs. "What are you doing here?" She enquired in an upset manner."I'm here to see you. We need to talk." Jayden said calmly, maintaining a dreadful expression."There's nothing to talk about. Please leave." She snapped angrily."There are a lot to talk about, Erin Charlton. And I won't leave until we have a talk." He insisted in a firm tone, one that made her feel under his authority. She hated that."You are in my home, remember? What happens when I report an intrusion?""Dylan Charlton, who is his father?" He

He peeped out through the window and saw a caravan of cars drive towards the building he and Erin were in.They were his father's escorts. He watched his father alight his car, with a straight face. Then he went back to sit, to await his father's entry. The building was theirs' and it's activities at the moment were exclusive. Getting the paparazzi to know about the meeting wasn't a good notion. As foreseen, Arthur was led into the room Jayden and Erin were by Theodore. Even at first sight, Erin could tell without anyone informing her that he was Jayden's father. They looked so much alike and what stunned her the most was the fact that she saw some bits of resemblance between him and her son. She could also feel the aura he carried. Jayden had inherited that from him. She concluded.First of, he screamed wealth. And had this cold gaze when he walked in but it softened few seconds afte
Chapter eight What do I do with the ball?"Hey." Dylan reached out to a girl sitting alone at the school's playground. She looked melancholic and her head was hung low. She didn't reply him. Dylan stepped closer and placed a hand on her shoulder. "You look sad. Did you lost your candy?" She looked up at his face this time around but didn't still give a reply. Dylan looked around before turning to her again."No one has come to get you and you don't have friends to play with?"This time, she nodded in reply. Dylan let out a broad smile, displaying his white milk teeth. "My name is Dylan. What's yours?"She looked reluctant to say it but she eventually did. "I'm..." She looked down to avoid an eye contact with him. "I'm Arielle." "Arielle, nice to meet you!" Dylan squealed happily and proposed a handshake but he got ignored. He didn't mind. Then he took a seat beside her. He spent some good minutes staring at her, making her feel uncomfortable in the space. But she didn't say a word.
Chapter nine. Their storiesCITY A. Beauty Hour Salon."Be careful there." Lexi snarled at the lady massaging her toes. Trembly, the young lady apologized and carried on with her work clumsily. Getting Lexi pissed off gradually. Then another lady who looked older walked into the room. She was the manager of the studio. With a smile, she said, "When would you like to get your hair done ma'am? A stylist is free at the moment." "Tsk. I have to wait for some stylist to be free of clients in my own studio...just wonderful. I'll be there in a few minutes.""Alright ma'am. I'd like to make a report." The manager continued.Looking bored, Lexi replied lazily. "Let's hear it.""The sales this month are 11% lower than last month's." "What?" Lexi got worked up all of a sudden. With her body jerking up in the pedicure chair she was in. "How on earth did that happen? I thought I made it clear that the sales should keep rocketing and never plummet?""You did ma, but--" "Shut up!!!""You've bo
Chapter ten. The resultsFew days after. "Ma'am, a woman seeks you." Blain informed her through the intercom. With a pen in one hand, she went through a document and with the other, she held the intercom. She was clearly dissatisfied by the information. She had a lot to do and seeing anyone was the least she wished for."Do I have an appointment with her?" She inquired in a cold tone."Hm...no."Erin let out a slight sigh. "So? You've been working with me for a quite a while now. You know the rules. I'm busy." She snapped and dropped the call. And in some minutes, someone barged into her office. She looked up instantly with a frown. Blain scurried after the figure that intruded her office. "Excuse me, what's going on here?! This is an official environment and you can't just barge in like it's your house!" Erin roared angrily. Her anger soon faded when she saw who it was. She became suddenly weak in the knees and her head throbbed. She didn't want to believe her eyes. "Emilia?"
Chapter eleven Don't do itShe stood out there, in the cold. It was very dark outside and she realized how much time they had spent dining. Even though she had no appetite to eat, she couldn't excuse herself from the table abruptly. Then after dinner, she needed some fresh air and privacy. And came outside. It was more worse outside than where she came out from. She literally thought she could get some privacy being away from the family members but she was wrong. Lookouts littered everywhere. They stood meters away from each other, standing upright, keeping their guards up, and almost never blinking their eyes in several minutes. They had wiretapping devices on and probably, had firearms on them.On a side of the main building, where she was, there were close to twenty men. And as she sized them all up with discontentment, one man walked towards her from a different direction. As soon as he got to her, he curtsied her before he started to talk. "Milady, is there anything you need out
Chapter twelve Her uncle Rowley."I couldn't just stand by and watch that bastard... ""Rowley...no foul words." Erin cautioned with a frown and Rowley raised his hands in submission. "Yes ma'am.""So, I couldn't just stand watching him and his so-called wife treat you that way so I decided to go make money then come for you. Your father would probably take it to court and I know very well that the the tribunal wouldn't favour a penniless man." Rowland explained."First of, he is no longer my father. And secondly, you should've told me." She sulked and hit his arm playfully. He chuckled. "Then you would've broken into uncontrollable tears and make him find out about us.""I wasn't that little." She protested with a scowl and he laughed again. Eventually, she also joined him. And in that short while, she reminisced their first encounter. The first time she met him was on her mother's funeral. Maryam. The one she called a father didn't spend five full minutes at her mother's grave and
