Chapter Twenty-one

I listened as my mom cautioned a thirty-five-year-old me on how to behave at parties, what to do and what not to do. I nodded my head, waved at her, and walked out the door. It was high time I got a house of my own. For all this year I chose to stay with her just so that she could be happy again after my dad divorced her, I couldn't leave her all alone in that house to feel like she had no one. Now she is feeling a lot better to meddle in my business so I guess it's time I find my place, I could stand her treating me like a child. The security my mom sent along with me stood by the door after opening it for me, I jumped in. Michelle was sitting in the car already, applying some make-up and lipstick. She shot me a smile and continued with her makeup.

" I know right? Henry got them for me." She said, pushing her hair backward.
