Chapter 2

Chapter Two

ARYAN POV

Taking her to where she was pointing, I hastened my footsteps. I can't imagine her dying in my arms. I needed to save her. I raised my head just to see some people rushing in our direction. Some of them were holding microphones while some were already flashing camera lights. What the fuck was this? Was this a prank or something? Why are they taking photos of us? This isn't a prank, is it?

They were already a few distances away from us. "No...oo..take me away. They...are also after...me. " The lady said trying to stabilize her breathing. I nodded immediately and rushed into the car. The key was left carelessly in the ignition. What if someone else drove the car and run away? So many thoughts ran across my mind.

I dropped her in the back seat and close the door. They were almost catching up. "Wait! Where are you taking her? Tell us how you are related to her." A man said running closer to me. I entered the car and locked the door. Winding up the windscreen, they were knocking on it. Almost smashing it down.  Paparazzi stuff! So sickening! I wonder how these rich men and ladies keep up with this kind of approach.

Crazy.

I turned the key and stepped on it. Zooming off to god knows where.

"Hmm...ugh...where do you have in mind? I don't know where to take you but wait. First. You need to go to the hospital." I said and increased the speed.

"No, you can't. They will see me there. It would only make matters worse."

Her voice came up. Wait, what? I thought she was having a hard time breathing. How come she was able to talk so fast?

"Then where do you want me to take you? You need to get to the hospital. Something might go wrong."  I told her but she still refused to allow me to take her to the hospital.

"Take me to your home. At least I would rest assured no one is coming for me. Take me to your home."  She said and when I try to protest, she raised her voice at me. I felt so dumb that I was succumbing to her orders but there was nothing I could do. Nothing. It only made matters worst She insisted like her life was in danger.

"But ma'am...I...."

"Please, Sir. I am begging you. Take me to your house. I need peace of mind. Please." She pleaded and I had no choice but to listen. Knowing where I lived would not be conducive for her, I watched her through the mirror at the top. She seemed like a wealthy woman. But how come she was in this situation and no bodyguards were there to protect her?

Poor lady.

"Are you sure you want to go to my house? I don't want people to file a case against me for kidnapping you which I did not." I uttered hoping I was not hurting her feelings.

"Even if you live in the gutter, I will stay there with you. As long as there is peace and some silence." She said and I heaved a sigh of relief. She wouldn't mind me taking her to where I live.

I increased the speed and turned round. My house was a little far from here.

*

I watched as she leaned on the backseat peacefully and her eyes were shut. I guess she was enjoying the peace. Right now, I felt nothing but the urge to ask her what her problems were. I could see she was tired. Maybe just a little rest. She would be okay and after that, I would ask her.

A few minutes later, I put the car to a halt and unbuckled the seatbelt. Unlocking the door, I got out of the car and helped her out of the car. For a while, I kept doubting if she would like to stay in my house as she said. People like her deserve to live a comfortable life. No stress.

"C'mon I am fine. Lead the way." She said and tried to walk on her own but she ended up falling into my arms. I grabbed her by the hips but then I removed my hands immediately. I don't want her to think I am taking advantage of her situation. I held her shoulder and placed my hands around the back of her thighs and carried her in a bridal style with our eyes connecting. It felt so awkward.

"I can walk myself... " She said.

"Yes, I can see that," I said in sarcasm.

Then I saw a smile forming on her lips. I just made her smile. I smiled thinking it was an achievement but I took my mind off it and carried her into my rented apartment. It wasn't luxurious but at the end of the month, it would be. I would buy some appliances when I get my first paycheck at the big consortium where I work in.

I entered and place her down on my couch. She coughed.

"Let me get you a glass of water," I told her but she only nodded in affirmation.

A few seconds later, I came out holding a bottle of water and a glass cup. I served the water and gave it to her. She gulped it down which left me wondering why she got so comfortable with me. Like she wasn't scared at all.

"Thank you for saving me." She thanked me.

I only replied to her with a smile. She smiled back at me.

"Hum...are you sure you don't wanna go to the hospital? You are not breathing fine." I pointed out.

"Don't worry about me...I am fine." She told me.

I watched slowly as she talked. She was no doubt a beautiful woman. Her long hair complements her thick, long eyelashes. With her curves. No wonder those guys were after her.

"Of course I do. "I told her.
