The invitation for the charity ball spread like wildfire. The wealthy class knew how well to respond to events. They sent in their acceptance and Adeline got busy trying to prepare for the event. I did the little I could with Manolo and we got quite close. Things were beginning to get serious with Manolo and we spent our time helping Adeline out with the event. For whatever reason, Manolo wouldn’t go anywhere without me and I did enjoy his company.
