Ace stared at Black Axe as he took a drag of his cigarette. He wasn't surprised though. Yes, he had expected that his underlings would be surprised by his decision to let Damon go and they would all think he had changed or grown softer but that did not matter to him.

What mattered was that Ava was by his side and she was not bawling her eyes out. He threw the cigarette on the floor and took out another one from its pack as he said, "Black Axe, since when do I care about what people think of me? Of course, they are entitled to their opinions as always. You of all people should know that if I cared so much about other people's thoughts, then I wouldn't be where I am today. I am Black Scorpion and I owe no one any explanation when it comes to what I do in my private life. Those friends of Ava, both Damon and the officer, I kept them alive for reasons best known to me which is no one else's business but mine."
