Claire’s POV.

I went to the restroom to fix my makeup. Sebastian was so cool and I wanted to make a good impression.

My phone rang, and I picked it up. I checked the caller ID and it was my mom.

“Hello Mom,” I said. “Hey!!” She yelled from the other end, and I immediately moved the phone away from my ear.

“I am not deaf mom, what is it?” I said tiredly. “Your father is not home yet, I am sure he is with his mistress,” she said angrily over the phone.

I shook my head disappointedly because that wasn't the first time I would be called for such matters. She never called me to ask for my whereabouts, but she always kept a tab on her husband.

The two were so toxic and inconsiderate. They don't take care of their kids and always fight. Divorce was like slang in my house.

“Mom, I am sure he is on his way,” I responded. “He is so annoying he is not picking up my calls,” she said from the other end.
