THE LEGEND OF THE VOLCANO

I gasped as my vision returned and I saw where we materialised.

“Are you crazy?” I asked, then shook my head.

“Of course you’re crazy, you’ve already proven that countless times since I met you, but this is on a whole other level. Why did you bring me to a volcano? Did you finally decide to kill me like I asked?”

I was surprised that my strength was slowly returning, enough for me to speak so much, and speak coherently. But then I realised that it wasn’t actually surprising, Gavrael has been holding on to me, his closeness soothed the pain, and replenished my previously waning strength, even if the price to pay for that is me wanting him more than I needed air.

We were standing several hundred feet above the ground, on the crater of a volcano, though I couldn’t see any lava or feel the heat. It was also darker than it had been at the Brookstone pack, almost like we were in another country with a different time zone. The air up here was so cold, it felt good on my overheated
