By the time Selena would reach the compound, several guards had assembled there welcoming the King whose door was opened and he stepped down, still looking as handsome as she could remember. He looked radiant still but not with the kind of expression she expected him to have should he get what he want. He obviously didn't.

She watched him from afar as he waved at the guards, the maids and all, a smile plastered on his face. Strange.

"Looks like everyone has missed our Alpha so much they can't wait to tell him what has happened."
