Chapter Twenty eight B

Charia and Peter returned home, their hearts heavy with worry for Melissa's whereabouts. They had ransacked the neighborhood, searching every nook and cranny, but their efforts had been in vain. Melissa seemed to have vanished without a trace, leaving them anxious and unsettled.

There was no checkpoint where Melissa had ever been on an errand that they've not checked. They did not seem to find her.

As they approached the house, their steps heavy with exhaustion, they noticed Ice, Zara, and little Jacob waiting outside.

Both excitement and wordiness filled Charia's face. "Is that?" A smile crossed her lips as she ran over to hug Ice, holding him closely and hugging him tightly.

Ice hugged her dearly too with smiles all over his face. Charia took turns hugging Zara and then Jacob. "Oh, my goodness" She gasped looking at them and tears coming from her eyes.

"I missed you both" she sobbed.

"We also miss you and that's why we are here," Ice said to her rubbing her hair softly
