CHAPTER 30: ALPHA ARDEN

LILITH’S POV:

It’s been an entire week since the massacre; everyone has played it off as though it all never happened.

It might be some sort of routine or normalcy to clean up several corpses as though it’s nothing, but I haven’t gotten the scene out of my mind.

Flashes of that night haunt me till now; the pile of bodies, Warren’s lifeless body, and Kain soaked in blood, towering over me and choking me with his bare hands.

Every time I close my eyes, a glimpse of the image flashes.

I pass the hall. It had all transpired for the tenth time this week. It’s become a routine for me.

The quiet hall feels as though I had imagined everything myself and perhaps, Warren is still alive and jumping around in his room till this day — but I dare not deceive myself.

It had all happened; he killed him.

“Lilith?”

I scream, jumping from the sudden intrusion in my thoughts before turning round to see Ariel.

Sweet cute Ariel with her rounded doe-like eyes brimming with curiosity.
