Knowing that she would not be here anymore threw me into endless vertigo. No way out, no way in, just sorrowful memories impossible to cope with, just to live among them until you go near the ones who have left.

I decided today I shall go back to Bellingham. There was nothing to do here in Northumberland, the place that had stripped me of so much. I will have to detach myself from these painful roots and start a new life. If I don’t take Bella out of my mind, there would be no way of healing.
