"Your Majesty, the children are all better now. The temple is letting them go back to their families this afternoon." Ellie reported. He took Seviere's place for the time being while the latter was sent to inspect the borders on the southern part of the empire.

"Mm." Carzus answered nonchalantly.

"How 'bout the child?"

He paused. 'Should I send him back? Or ...' He unconsciously gripped the paper in his hand while deciding on what to do with the kid. "Let him come back here and inform his family to pick him up personally."

The corners of Ellie's mouth formed a straight line. "Are you prepared to see them now, Your Majesty?"

Hearing the latter's question, Carzus' countenance darkened. There was a part of him who wanted to see them, but he was scared of their reaction if they learned that he was alive. "Who knows. They might not even recognize me."
