CHAPTER 61: Brenda's Plan

Khlea's Point of View

I stopped looking back when someone rang the doorbell. I took a deep breath before letting go of the glass containing the wine. I walked towards the door.

It's Brenda.

I'm not in my unit at the headquarters and I'm here in my condo right now. I stayed here first because I didn't want to see Allison. I don't want to see her and be with her. Even her shadow and her voice, I don't want to see and hear.

"I brought food," Brenda said as she held up the plastic container that contained chicken feet and other things that could be eaten while drinking.

"Thanks. Come in," I said.

That's what she did so I closed the door.

This is not the first time Brenda has been here at the unit. Ever since the trouble on Isla Verde we became friends. It's just the two of us because she and Allison don't get along. Brenda's attitude is the opposite of Allison's attitude. Dogs and cats fight, so I often have a hard time.
