"You ditched me," I teased mercilessly as soon as I picked the call. Her surprised gasp showed me she was playing along. I didn't see her at the wedding but I knew she was there somehow.

"I had to take Mrs. Lacoste away. She was asking too many questions." She sighed in exasperation.

"You didn't want me to know all about that, right? Tell me something. When did you have a brewery company under your name?" It long piqued my interest and I wasn't going to let her off the hook just like that.
