Third person's POV

Emily dropped the phone with shaky hands. She couldn't meet Hera's curious eyes. She was tempted to lash out at the poor woman but she kept her cool.

"Why did you keep interrupting? I didn't want her to find out like this. What if she took it the wrong way? I could lose my best friend in the process!" It came out harsher than she had intended.

Hera sighed as she rolled over to her side, placing cold hands on Emily's arm. "I wanted her to know she had someone like me in your life. I was trying to help you."

Emily shrugged her off. "Well, you didn't help me. I don't want to have fights with you…" she was aware that Hera took the burden of breaking the news to Dalia.

Hera quickly raised her hands in surrender. This was different from what Emily saw the times they met. She was cold and harsh but to Emily, her expression and voice softened a bit.
