34 The Showroom

I followed Jasper to town to check out the showroom the next day. It was much more beautiful than it looked on the phone. It was also in a pricy part of town. We entered, and the place was breathtaking. They were yet to bring the sample furniture, and he said Godwin, his former colleague and now employee, would have them delivered and arranged the next day. There wasn't much to see, so he ushered me to my office. It was a beautifully decorated office with a luxury desk and a swivel chair. There was a couch with a small table and a television; the office was large and striking.

Jasper walked in and closed the door behind him. He looked at me smiling.

" You did all this?" I asked him, touched, and he nodded. I ran to him and kissed him deeply. I had never kissed him that way, but for the first time since the claiming incident, I was hopeful that I would get somewhere in life.

" Jasper, I hope we are not in too much debt?" I asked him, worried that he might end up getting himsel
