Chapter 2

When Aria arrived at the Mancini house, she was surprised by the amount of security. Well, if I were her, I’d like to keep your kids safe, too.

The housekeeper Giulia answered and Aria thanked her for the education. She presented the whole house and the functioning of things there.

"Children can be a little difficult. Many have already said goodbye. But I ask you to understand. They suffer greatly from the absence of their father."

Aria stated. She somehow understood these children. Being without her parents was difficult.

She smiled when she saw a 5-year-old girl and a 17-year-old boy. They both looked at her angrily.

"This is Laura and Giovanni, Aria."- Giulia introduced them. "Children, this is Miss Ricci."

"Pleasure, I will take care of you from today. I hope we got along."

Laura just showed her tongue and cried out:

"We don’t want you here." The child ran into the room and locked himself in.

Lorenzo also did not address her. He did a quick research on her life and found nothing.

He then decided to do more in-depth research into the area of his family. If the police or media had no information, they would.

But what he found was just an accident. There was nothing more there. He could use that information to provoke you, but that would be very mean.

Later, Aria helped in the kitchen, as the children did not communicate with her. However, she watched them closely.

Whenever the door was opened, there was a look of hope in his face. But they always remained empty when they noticed that he was not their father.

Aria sat down sad about it, was this man really that busy?

Hours later, Laura left the room and looked at her in a stupidity. Lorenzo looked at him angry as if she was invincible or something. That made her laugh forever.

At lunch, Giulia smiled and said:

"Today Miss Ricci helped me make Spaghetti al pesto, your favorite."

When the brothers tasted it, it was delicious. Aria smiled to see their expressions of pleasure when eating.

But soon her serious expressions returned to her faces. She sighed, knew it would be a difficult battle.

The day passed with Aria being ignored by the brothers. She did not care and continued watching them and not responding to their insults. Even when Laura threw a whole package at her head.

Aria just laughed and said:

"What a delight. Thank you."

She also tried to talk to Lorenzo while he read the Beasters manga.

"My sister is also a fan of this manga. I think you would get along. My favorite character is Louis and you?"

Lorenzo did not answer, just ignored it. Even if the proposal to have someone who could talk to him about it would be interesting.

Time passed in the same mood until evening. However, Aria was surprised that Laura had not come down for dinner.

She knocked on the door of the room and got no answer. Worried, Aria came in and found the girl trembling with fever.

Aria ran to give her a bath and warm her. The girl took a medicine for the fever, but hours passed and the fever did not pass. That was not normal.

Lorenzo called the family doctor and he said it was an emotional fever. Seeing Laura calling for her father, it cut Aria’s heart.

Aria called several times, but no one answered.

It wasn’t possible for a meeting to last that long.

Lorenzo borrowed his cell phone in his father’s attempt to answer. However, there was no answer either?

Aria was furious with that. Didn’t that man care about his children?

"Your father would need to be here, I’m sorry Lorenzo. Maybe you should go to him."

Lorenzo denied.

"My father won’t see me, I’ll take care of Laura. You can try."

--------

Aria looked at the tall building of the Mancini company with some fear, the place looked like she would swallow it. Even so, she had the courage to enter.

"Buona Notte, I’d like to speak to Mr Mancini."

"Do you have an appointment?" the blonde woman asked her.

"No, Miss. I babysit his children. It’s urgent."

The woman understood the gravity of the situation and allowed her to enter. The young woman seemed really desperate.

"All right. Go up. 7 floor, first room."

"Grazie"

Aria went up the elevator with a heavy heart. I hoped Laura would be fine.

He went to the boss’s office. But someone stopped him. It was a brunette woman.

"Do you have a schedule?"

Aria was already getting angry about it.

"I need to talk to Mr. Mancini about his daughter. Please, it’s urgent."

"One moment. Sit down, please."

She knocked on the door and came in.

Aria sat down and called Lorenzo. I was worried about Laura.

"The fever hasn’t increased, but it hasn’t decreased either. She keeps calling daddy."

"You can come in." - Said the secretary, as soon as she hung up.

Aria entered quickly. In front of her was a blond man with cold blue eyes.

He looked at her with a cold look that almost paralyzed her. If there was nothing so important to say, he would be speechless.

"Are you the new nanny?" Smiled gallantly.

"Yes, sir. I have something urgent to tell you." He said, ignoring his attempt.

"What’s the matter?" he said, sitting down and getting a glass of drink. "Sit down." He asked.

"Laura is sick. The fever is not going down and she is calling for you." She did not sit down.

"Did you come here just for that?" Giovanni said indifferently.

That pissed Aria off, didn’t he really care?

"Yes, sir. I care about them..."

"Are you doing this to earn more?  Said suspicious." I looked at your file. I know your fame. You can take advantage of my children to increase your salary, since you’re desperate.

Aria wasn’t believing that. How dare he say that? He was charming, but a total asshole.

"No, sir. I really care about them. Laura is sick, she’s calling you." she tried to stay professional.

"I’m full of work. Kids do it to get attention."

Really, Aria wasn’t buying it. He couldn’t hold back anymore.

"Listen here, Mr Mancini." Spoke loudly. " Your daughter is very ill. I know you think giving everything money can buy is enough. But, no. No, that’s enough. They need a father. You know, don’t you know? Because all the drool you hired was gone. They don’t want a stranger. They want their father. Take the chance while you have them around."

"Listen here, girl..."  He got up, trying to intimidate her.

"No, you have to listen..." - she cried out even if he was much louder than her.

"You’re losing your children. Soon you’ll become a stranger in that house and you’ll see the big mistake you’re talking about. If you don’t want to pay me, that’s fine. If you do, say goodbye too. I don’t mind. As long as you do your father’s duty" Sighed.  " I just want to see them happy."

She left, slamming the door and leaving Giovanni stunned.

Upon arriving at the Mancini house, tears trickled down his face.

"How can this man be so horrible?" she whispered.
