I walked into the packhouse with Willow hand in hand when I heard laughter coming from the kitchen. Entering the kitchen, I found my mother, Malakhi and Amanah having a blast together. Amanah looked very different from when she left the house.
She was now wearing a large hoodie and a pair of tights. She sat next to Malakhi facing my mother as she talked to them.
"Oh, hi there," my mother said sweetly, raising her mug to her lips. "I'm going to kill you," she said through the mind link and I smiled waving my hand.
"Hi everyone," I said and Amanah just stared at us before she turned back around to face my mother.
"Hey," Malakhi said, nodding and facing away as well.
"Oh come on, don't tell me you're mad too?" I asked him through the link.
"Extremely," he said.
"You don't even know the whole story," I said and he turned around to face me again and shook his head.
"Don't need to."
"So Ma, what were you saying about the tea?" Amanah asked my mother and I cocked my head to the side.
"Since when do you call her Ma?" I asked as I sat down in front of them with Willow.
"Since I told her to, she's my child now," my mother said, clicking her tongue at me.
"I thought only pack members were allowed to be here," Willow said and Amanah sighed as she rested her chin in her palm staring at Willow.
"Last I checked it was my house, and I can have whoever I want here Willow, I can also kick people out," my mother said with a smile and that didn't sit well with me. My mother was obviously favouring Amanah over Willow because she was just carrying my child in her.
"Mom," I said and she continued talking.
"And besides, my Amanah carries my grandchild, of course, I'll always want her here," she said holding her face and Amanah leaned into my mother smiling.
"It's alright Ma, Malakhi and I have to go now anyway," she said as she stood up.
"Oh yes, I forgot about that. Make sure you get everything you need okay?"
"I will," she said smiling.
"And please, watch out for Malakhi. He always gets excited there and won't come back quickly," my mother said and Malakhi gasped.
"Mom! That is not true," he said touching his chest and she giggled.
"Where are they going?" I asked, it seemed they kept talking about whatever their plans were without consulting with me first.
"Earth," my mother said as a matter of fact. "Since you won't take her, Malakhi offered to and I agreed," she said, crossing her arms over her chest.
"Nobody told me about that, I should be informed if crossing over of realms is going to happen and-"
"You told her to take herself home, so you already knew about the cross over. Don't pretend as if you didn't know."
"But-"
"If you will excuse all of us, we have stuff to do. I have to prepare a room for Amanah and they need to go."
"Prepare a room? What for?" I asked standing up and my mother walked closer to me obviously showing me she wasn't intimidated.
"Amanah will be staying with me since you don't want her there," she said with her head raised. I looked at Amanah and she stared at us with soulless eyes.
"I'm Alpha," I said and my mother scoffed.
"Then act like it," she whispered, walking away. "Amanah stays with me until you get your act together!"
"Orion won't allow that!" I said to her and my mother cocked her head to the side.
"Then why isn't he saying anything?" I wasn't able to respond. Lately, Orion and I haven't been on par. He's been very disobedient and rude. He won't even come out to stretch, that's how pissed he has been at me. When he does reveal himself, he always wipes my memories of whatever he did when he did.
It feels like I'm living with a totally different person than when I was growing up with him. I saw the black square portal open with Amanah and Malakhi's backs to us.
"Woah, that's so cool," she said to Malakhi smiling.
"You'll like it even more in there," he said. "After you," Amanah stared at him with inquisitive eyes. "There's nothing bad, come on."
"No way, we go in together at the same time, hold my hand," she said to him as she put out her hand for him, he didn't hesitate in holding her hand, he didn't even think about it. I clenched my jaw as I watched them enter the portal together as they smiled at each other.
I wanted to be the one she would have her first portal experience with and yet I messed that up.
"Be sure to come back on time for dinner okay!"
"Yes, mom!" The portal closed and my mother looked at me and sighed annoyed.
"Willow, I'm quite sure there's training today?" My mom said with a slight head tilt and Willow stood up.
"Uhm, Miall said it's alright if I don't go," she said standing next to me, my mother smiled squinting her eyes.
"Mh, Miall says a lot of things without thinking. You're not Luna yet, so training grounds you go," she said and Willow wavered. "Miall won't save you from this one."
"It's alright, you should go," I said, placing a kiss on her cheek.
"I'll see you later?" I nodded and she smiled. She looked at my mom and bowed before leaving the house. My mom stared at me before she groaned and walked away.
"Was that necessary?" I asked as I followed behind her. She ignored me as she opened an empty room and removed the covers from the bed. "Mom?"
"What!?"
"Did you have to be that mean to Willow?" I asked her and she looked at me before laughing and shaking her head.
"I was mean to Willow by telling her to go train because she isn't Luna yet? That was mean?"
"Yes," I said and she laughed, putting her hands on her waist.
"Willow isn't Luna, just because she's your girlfriend doesn't mean she should be treated any special way. She was born a wolf, and she knows our rules and regulations. Why should she be given a free pass for sleeping with the Alpha?" She asked distastefully.
"That isn't the case-"
"Oh? Then what is the case?"
"Why are you so angry at me?" I asked her and she rolled her eyes whispering under her breath how dense I could be."You told Amanah to take herself home, you were unreasonably rude to her," she said softly, her eyes looking saddened.
"You don't know the whole story mom."
"All she did was stop you from kissing Willow."
"She was rude to Willow."
"She only asked who she was, and Willow lunged at her despite the fact of knowing she was pregnant. You told her she is only here because of Orion and you don't want her here!"
"Mom, how can you choose sides? I'm your son!"
"Son? Son, you say?" My mom questioned smiling before she shook her head.
"My son would never make someone feel unwanted. He would understand what that girl is going through even though she hides it so well. She's on a foreign planet, with a species different from hers, and she's pregnant with your child Miall, not Orion's but yours.
My son would take responsibility and stop blaming everyone else around him. If you're still unable to see your faults," she looked deeply disappointed as she said this. Shaking her head, the words she said next shattered me.
"Then perhaps you aren't fit to be Alpha just yet."
"This is your place?" Malakhi asked as he looked around my small apartment. "It's tiny," he said and I threw a toss pillow at him."Not all of us are friends with royalty," I said and Malakhi laughed. "Now help me pack," I said as I stood on my toes trying to reach for my bag, but of course with the help of Malakhi, I was handed my bag with ease."Do you promise to show me around once we're done?" He asked with a puppy dog look and I rolled my eyes pushing him away from me."Only if you help me, which you are not doing," I said as I took out my clothes from the closet and he chuckled as he helped me pack up some stuff.Malakhi was a pretty funny person or wolf should I say. After he found me crying outside, which was very dramatic of me, he took me to the Pack House, where Nyleve was currently living. She was kind enough to give me her hoodie and pants. While we sat together, basically they made me feel better after the whole happening with Miall and his girlfriend, whose name I now k
“Hi Malakhi,” he waved before turning his head back at me. “Amanah, you’ve been gone for a whole week! Without texting me, calling or emailing me! Do you have any idea how worried I was?”“It can’t be a week, I’m pretty sure I saw you just yesterday when you let me knock off early,” I said and Frank looked surprised. “Are you sure you’re okay?” I asked as I put my hand on his forehead.“I’m too sober for this,” he said, raising his hands as he walked towards the bar. “She’s been gone a week and then asks if I’m okay,” he muttered. Malakhi tapped on my shoulder and I turned to look at him.“Time works differently on Nioz, you have been gone for an entire week Ama,” he said softly and I was shocked.“Frank,” I tried as I walked closer to the bar. “Do you need me to work for the rest of the night?” I asked, leaning against the counter.“No, it’s alright. I was about to close up anyway,” he said and I smiled, cocking my head.“Are you angry at me?” I asked softly and he pouted looking awa
“Why do you smell like another man?”“Is that what you seriously came here for ?” I asked him as I picked up the pillow and climbed onto the bed.“No, I came to see you but I can smell him,” he said and his teeth slowly inched out.“Are you trying to scare me into answering you?” I asked him crossing my arms over my chest. “And I bathed, how much of a wolf can you be?” I asked.“I’m sorry, but I am not a wolf, I told you I am a Lycan, nothing like that weak excuse of a beast,” he said grumbling and I laughed. Orion was funny, in the time I spent with him on the first day, he wouldn’t stop going on and on about how powerful he is and how I should feel lucky that he chose me.“So you admit they are beasts?” I asked giggling and he looked down at me with a shrug.“Have you seen how ugly they are? That’s why I refuse to ever take on that form,” he said arrogantly yet proudly.“I think they’re cute, probably nice to hug,” I said, shrugging.“I refuse to take on that form because I don’t li
“Your mother wants to have breakfast with you and you’re ditching her for your girlfriend? Eat with your mom, and then go to your girlfriend,” who does she think she is talking to me like that? I watched her as she pulled out the chair for me and pointed at it without looking at me. “Sit,” and yet, I felt compelled to listen to her.I skipped the chair she had pulled out for me and she smiled, shaking her head. I sat down and crossed my arms over my chest. She giggled and covered her lips, my eyes immediately looked at them and I sighed annoyed.“You’re such a big baby,” she laughed and my mother joined her.“He is my big baby boy,” she said as she kissed my cheek and I groaned, wiping my face.“Mom!” I whined and Amanah laughed even harder. “And I’m an Alpha, not a baby,” I said and Amanah nodded her head.“Yeah, a baby alpha,” she said and they laughed even harder, it was kind of nice listening to them laugh instead of complaining, for once ever since she got here, I didn’t feel so
I sat on the couch waiting for Miall to arrive, my knees bobbed up and down as I sat on my hands bored, Nyleve couldn't wait with me because she had a pack meeting to get to which Miall could be excused for because she’s there. This packhouse was weird, it was divided into two sections, Nyleve’s house and the literal packhouse. She said she wanted it that way because then she would be able to have access to everyone who would need her, she was such a mother to everyone and it was cute.“I hope I didn’t keep you waiting long?” Miall said as he walked in looking frustrated already.“No?” I asked getting up, I smoothed down my skirt and put my arms behind my back looking up at him. “Mom went to the pack meeting,” I said to him as he looked around.“Oh, the pack meeting,” he whispered, threading his fingers through his hair. “I totally forgot about that,” he said and I had no idea how to respond to that.“She said she will fill in for you,” I said slowly, this was awkward. Just because I
“You don’t like him?” I asked her and she shook her head.“No, I love him but ever since he started hanging out with,” she leaned down to my ear and whispered, “Willow, he’s been unbearable,” she said and I smiled, I guess it isn’t only Nyleve and Malakhi who see it. “And I’m assuming he’s the reason you were crying?” she asked, looking sorry and I shrugged.“It is what it is,” I said and she shook her head. “I’ll get over it soon,” I said and she held my shoulders.“You will because you just made a new friend,” she pointed to herself. “Me, I’ve been in here a bit too long, I’ll see you out there okay lovely?”“Okay, Anin,” I laughed and waved as she left me in the restroom alone. I wiped my eyes once more and took a few deep breaths in before leaving to join Miall. I sat down with a seat between us, just like he did this morning, and of course, he told me to stop hanging out with Orion, so I guess that also applies with him too.“Are you okay?” He asked leaning towards me, maybe I sh
“Wow,” Nyleve said again for the umpteenth time, she sat on my bed blushing over the scans, it was the first time I was seeing her smile like this.“Would you like to keep that one?” I asked her and she looked at me surprised.“Really?”“Yeah, you can keep it,” I said smiling.“I’m going to frame it!” She said excitedly. “I’m sure Miall is looking at it right now,” she said looking at the scan.“He didn’t take one,” I said to her and she turned her head.“What? Why?”“I don’t know, but he did ask me to stop hanging out with Orion because he’s in love with Willow and whatnot,” I said, waving my hand as I prepared to go to bed.“He said what!?” She got up and I shrugged. “He should be spending time with you, does he not know how important it is for vhafunwa to be with each other at this period! I’m going to have to talk to him.”“Nyleve, it’s alright. I respect his decision and it just shows he’s serious about Willow, you should be more understanding, she’s going to be your daughter in
Two weeks passed like a breeze, I hadn’t seen Miall since then nor Orion, I was actually surprised that he did respect Miall’s decision. To be honest, life was peaceful now even though it was kind of crappy in the beginning, I adjusted.I put my hands on my waist as I looked at the wall we had just finished painting with Malakhi, Nyleve had graciously and excitedly given me another room for the baby, and I obviously couldn’t wait to start filling it up with everything for my baby’s arrival.Luckily I had Anin, Malakhi and Nyleve to help me with everything, it kind of sucked that Miall couldn’t be here for this but Nyleve and Malakhi did say that he was working, the only two people in this house that actually got to see him.“Where do you want me to put these?” Malakhi asked carrying the rocking chair and the bassinet crib at once. I pointed to the wall closest to the door and he placed them down.“Ooh you’re so strong aren’t you? Carrying everything at once,” I teased and he chuckled
