“You aren’t holding my hand, Sienna,” complained Lucas as he stopped in his tracks, holding onto the crutch angrily. He had been able to walk without her help yet he behaved like an impossible child when Sienna left him alone. It was as if he didn’t want her to leave his side. He knew that the moment he could do everything independently, she would leave him and go back to her hospital. 

“You have to walk on your own now, Lucas. I’m right here if you need me but I won’t hold your hand now. Try to walk ten steps,” she coaxed.
