I don’t know for how long the call with Hilan lasted but when I lifted my head, I saw Bernardo in the room with me. I didn’t even know when he got in and how long he had been there watching me.

“Lan, I have to go. I will call you some other time.”

I told him and hurriedly ended the call. I got up from the bed and stared at my mate who had an unreadable expression. I went over my conversation with Hilan trying to figure out if I did or said anything inappropriate while we spoke but I couldn’t remember doing anything out of normal. We had a normal conversation and mostly spoke about my soon-to-be Luna position.

Hilan assured me that everything would work out fine and that I had the best mate. Which was shocking since they were rivals before I came into the picture. I thanked him again for saving me and made him promise to come for my Luna coronation day. I don’t know when it will be yet but I wanted him to be there and he assured me that he would be.

“Bern. When did you arrive?”
