Book Two Branch Two Hundred and Fifty Three

Aletta was too stunned to speak. She blinked multiple times to try and mask her expression. She bit her lips.

"That caught me off guard" she finally said and he nodded. "But can I think about it?" she asked.

"Sure sure" he said trying to make it sound like it was a normal conversation.

"I would think about it and also about the marriage thing but I do need time to think about it" She said and he agreed with her.

They tried to spend some time together but the awkwardness could not let them be so they both decided to go home and rest.

"You look like you received bad news" Alethea said as soon as Aletta walked through the door into the living room.

Aletta looked at her sister, she might give good advice about the situation. She lived her life loving as well. It seemed like her family was cursed with never having anyone to love them truly but out of the three ladies she was the one who gave up on love.

"Are you seeing someone?" Aletta asked plopping onto the couch.
