CHAPTER TWENTY NINE

“I asked you a question, Ana,” Atlas said.

The anger was still there and Anais could hear the slightest command in his voice.

She swallowed around the tightness of her throat and nodded. “You did, alpha,” She said.

“So why are you planning on leaving and disobeying me?”

Anais began to think clearly again, even in the face of her mate’s anger. She glared at Atlas as realization swept through her.

She pushed away from the counter and moved to the other side of the kitchen where the envelope was. She took it back and thrust it into her alpha’s hands.

“Because I got this today,” She said angrily. She could feel the tears pricking the backs of her eyes and the lump forming in her throat. “I knew you didn’t actually sign it because it was a typed note, but I didn’t realize that you didn’t even send it.”

He watched as Atlas opened the envelope and read the note.
