A pack of lies.

The sound of the fork snapping in William’s hands was lost to Anna, who was coughing at the question posed to her. Seconds later, a maid surreptitiously moved to hand the Alpha another fork, bowing and retreating into the corner.

Lily had begun to notice William’s eyes never leaving Anna’s direction, and each time it made her angrier and angrier.

At one point, she placed her hand on William’s thigh out of sight from everyone else, trying to get his attention.

However, she found her arm promptly pushed away by him.

What the hell?!

She looked away from the Alpha who was supposedly her fiancé and she noticed that Ethan was the only one who had noticed that little exchange between her and his brother. He was smirking, as though he had won some small victory.

Anna took advantage of the glass of water,

her mind whirling as she thought of what she could say in response.

Did Ethan’s mother think they had been..?

Should she reject that premise?

She didn’t want to start off on the wrong footin
