Lily's further investigation about Anna.

The receptionist fell silent, and Anna watched the woman assume a more serious tone.

“Yes… I mean, I don’t-“

Bearing a weary expression, she turned to Anna and asked snottily, “What was your name again?”

Anna gave it, and the receptionist paled.

“S-she’s here.” The blonde finally said on the phone and the receptionist paled even further after some seconds. Anna raised a brow at the woman because she could now pick out a loud voice on the other side even from where she sat. Whoever it was was very angry.

The receptionist stammered, “Y-Yes. I’m sorry, sir. Yes, sir.”

Then she dropped the call and trembling, she stood up.

“Come with me, miss.” She didn’t look at Anna now, her face burning. There was something akin to shame or terror or anger burning in her eyes however, and Anna felt a hint of satisfaction. The blonde had acted all high and mighty after all. It was pleasant to see her flail.

Looking like she had just seen a ghost, the receptionist took Anna to the elevator.
